What makes it right to put questions on GCSE Maths papers that A level students struggle to answer? What is being measured here? What is the purpose of adding anxiety, stress and a fear of failure to all those GCSE Maths students who now feel that they have flunked their Maths already and won't get their target grades?

Some of the questions were well above the level of maths that is taught at GCSE.
