I felt that the paper was very difficult and my friend has pointed out that there was a few A level style questions

I thought GCSE'S were supposed to test what we knew? Defeats the hole point of the object if we hadn't been taught the topics! Unfair! Our society are dependent on these exams to determine how qualified we are for a job! We HAVE to pass maths so make it passable!

Grade boundaries must reflect the difficulty experienced within paper 1.

The grade boundaries definitely need to be lowered. Some of the questions were absurd and should be used in the A Level papers. What have you done Edexcel?

Absolutely, the grade boundaries should be lowered. EdExcel should not penalise students for thei paper setter's whim of experimenting with A level questions.
