i had just sat this exam less than a week ago, baring in ming my target was a B.. this was an extremely hard topic to come across. taking my maths teacher a fair amount of time to do despite the"5 marks 5 minutes".

I usually am aiming for an A*, however this non-calc has left me doubting my abilities to attain an A.

First of all, this paper wasn't hard. Admittedly I didn't do it, I did a more advanced one, but I've seen screenshots. The quadratic people are complaining about was fundamentally easy. It most definitely was NOT A level.
Grade boundaries are percentile based. This makes no difference as the top x% will get an A*, and if you're not in that top x% then you don't deserve one, it's formulaic.
The questions you're all ranting about are probably B-A* differentiators. If all the questions were C grade then everyone would get 100%, and there would be no way for employers to determine who is the better mathematician.
Overall, personally, I think the paper was a perfectly reasonable mathematical ability assessment, I think people will get the grade they deserve, and I think Edexcel are perfectly justified in ignoring this completely unsubstantiated campaign to lower the grade boundaries.

Now I was able done some of these questions but I still think that they are were appalling questions and our examiners should be generous with the marking this and the grade boundaries should be dropped.

I would have appreciated a 'heads up' from edexcel saying this year's exam will be a lot harder compared to previous year's exams.

lower the grade boundries..that paper was tooo hard..if they don't lower it more people are going to fail or get grades which they don't deserve..all that hard work was for nothing
