The grade boundaries are created from the number of people in each marking bracket so 1 hard question will not affect results by very much, you may move up a bracket or down a bracket, but overall, the proportion of people getting an A* will not really change. P.S. The question can be answered using probability trees, something most students learn in year 10 and which is on the syllabus for every single GCSE board

As a typical year 11 student who attends Larkmead in Abingdon, on my maths papers I normally get between 40-60 marks. In the paper however, I will be extremely lucky to get over 15. It was ridiculously hard!

Been looking through a lot of papers but this one that i've just sat was the hardest yet, some of the questions were too hard and i'm not the only one who feels this way.

The grade boundaries should be reduced as a result of some questions asked on the examination being the same calibre as A level questions.

It was simply unfair , after doing a-level I cannot see how gcse students would have the knowledge to answer some of the questions
