International students who come to Ireland for more than three months and are not nationals of European Economic Area (EEA) are required to register with Garda National Immigration Bureau(GNIB). They are issued with a registration card (GNIB card) that allow them to stay in Ireland. All Non-EEA students are required to pay €300 to get GNIB card that is valid for one year.

International students are vital to the irish economy. According to EDUCATION IN IRELAND survey for 2011/2012, international students generate revenues of €1 billion per year.

We request Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS) and the government to reduce the fee for Non-EEA students.
