On behalf of the 285 million people who are estimated to be visually impaired worldwide, we ask that service dogs be made available at a lower cost or even free to those in need. About 90% of the world's visually impaired live in low-income settings. Research shows that visually impaired people with a guide dog had lower symptoms of stress, depression, and anxiety. Guide dogs can prevent many mishaps and be very beneficial to the person with the visual impairment.
