This has to stop. Even if we make no improvements what so ever the taxes go up here in Loop. I'm worried to finish up the front yard fence because I might not can afford these increases. I will be taking down a backyard fence and putting in a front yard. Something tells me that it isn't gonna look like an even swap on my taxes.. Stop this now!!!!

My shop went from being worth $42000 to being worth $197000. It is an 80 year old building that I gave $15000 for in 03 then spend $5000 on new sheet metal. So how the hell is it worth $197000 now? Then my house which I gave $48000 for in 05 went up over to he last 12 years and to $62000 only to this year jump to what they say is worth $144000. That's a $237000 value increase with no improvements. House and shop are in worse shape now then 10 years ago.

mi taxes went up 180 dollars this year which they had to manipulate my homestead to do that. does anybody remember voting down the hospital deal and wondered how the are building it anyway !!!

I just looked at my new tax bill on gainescad.org.... that phrase is enough to stop most heartbeats here in Gaines County. For goodness sake, my bum-hole is still sore from last years raping. #NoMeansNo
How far does this have to go? There seem to be few resources online besides "don't make improvements" and "don't have any curb appeal." It sucks that we live in a new Amerika where we constantly get penalized for improving our lives. But... good thing all of our students have laptops and tablets and all our classrooms have promethean boards. (sarc) Heaven forbid kids would have to read "x=a+b" off of a chalkboard and sit in desks that are a couple decades old. It's also good to have a high-rise hospital... I personally hope I'm on the top floor when the helicopter transports me to Lubbock so I can have a 40ft discount on the initial ascension.
On a serious note... does anyone have a clue what power we have to protest this matter? Has anyone had luck filing a protest after they received the initial estimate?

Crazy how my home appraisal value jumped about 30,000. Far out of norm for the history of the increases. Property taxes almost doubled. Barely hanging on to my job here...

Give us a break. Oil goes down. Paychecks go down. Everything that went up because the price of gas stayed up even though the price of gas has fallen significantly We learned to adjust to this change and the tax revenue needs to adjust to this change as well.

Ridiculous taxes on property and no rhyme or reason. The people in charge should be ashamed of their jobs done.
