Dear Tom Corbett,

With tuition on the rise every year, the dream of attending college for 18-year-olds is not becoming a reality. Upon receiving acceptance letters, kids are becoming more and more excited about their secondary education. It's heartbreaking when this excitement completely washes from their faces when they realize that they can not go to the school of their choice, or any school for that matter, simply because tuition costs are out of this world.
Students and their families are not asking for much, just to stop with the budget cuts and tuition hikes. You may not realize it, but it takes a huge toll on them. Some of the students and their parents can't pay their rent, their younger siblings can't get a secondary education and graduating is simply out of reach. All of this because tuition is well over $40,000/year.
If education is such a huge accomplishment and is something this country is proud of, why should families and students become poor to pay for it? This petition is for every student out there who just wants to better themselves through higher education and by signing it, I am helping them get closer to their dreams. Thank you.
