Just for perspective, I see a lot of public attacks of these teenagers for one horrible and unacceptable text conversation from their past without any knowledge if this was one terrible and stupid mistake of mimicking toxic words, offensive "humor", and discriminatory culture that is pervasive in the media these teens are sadly immersed in, or is this a pattern for these individual teens. How are we better as adults by jumping to assumptions. I do not honestly know if every text message between friends in the teens I raise has lived up to their values. I monitor social media and all behavior the best I can to prevent any mistakes. We hope their good behavior in school and community is the same in everything. we know their hearts as good kids but we can't see and hear and know everything. I do know from years of working with teens, they say and do stupid things that they do not mean or understand and make stupid mistakes because they see ignorance and bad behavior around them, but the ones with good values never repeat these mistakes when they are made aware-- that is all about growing up and learning accountability. Now, I do not know these kids or their families in this exchange of unacceptable and horrible comments, if they are bullies or open advocates for racist sentiments-- absolutely they need strong discipline measures, BUT if this is a terrible teen mistake from a year ago that has been corrected, is it our place to target kids or should we focus on prevention, culture correction, and improved communication within the school and community. If this a continued issue in this school like these comments are saying, hold the school accountable for immediate change. I just wonder what we teach our children with public shaming of individuals vs condemning this past incident and the culture and teaching accountability and tolerance. "There's extraordinary healing power in taking steps to forgive somebody, or even yourself. ... We must deve

It’s so disgusting how racism is still a thing!! People should have left that back hundreds of years ago!! Skin does not define who you are and your personality. And those are the things that should matter!! Something you can’t control, like you skin color, should never EVER matter! This stuff can also lead to suicidal thoughts. And the fact that you bully someone to the point they KILL THEMSELF is even more disgusting. So if this is really happening, DO BETTER LOWER MORELAND!!!!!!

Very disappointing to hear. Inaction of this school board will be viewed as encouragement of such behavior. A swift disciplinary action should nip it in the bud.

Please take the correct action now. Far too long a blind eye has cause students who are minorities to be bullied and physically hurt for lack of justice.

I moved my family here thinking we would be in Racists free community. I Respectfully asked the citizens in our community and Lower Moreland Twp to take these students action seriously. They are to be arrested and prosecuted for those remarks. I paid an extremely high school taxes so my children to feel safe to be Chinese and focus on getting a good education in predominantly White community. This is a first step of racists individuals to test the water before they start physically attacking the Asian students in the school.

LM needs to hold at least yearly mandatory anti-racism seminars across all the schools, from pine road to LMHS. It’s never to young to teach anti-racism. Unfortunately we can’t depend on some of these parents to do the work so it must be up to the schools to do it. This is unacceptable and there are no excuses.

I graduated from Lower Moreland in the 80s. During the entire time in that district from 2nd grade to HS I was subjected to racist and sexist bullying and name calling. So sad to realize that the district has not progressed much in the over 30 years since.

They might be minors but if you leave them like this then they'll grow up with terrible habits in life.
