Every two weeks I visit my local comic store with a fair amount of 20 dollars to catch up on my monthly series. The past couple of years, Marvel Comics, whom I am a huge fan of, price their comics at 3.99 per issue in US dollars. Adding purchase tax in my city (I live in Toronto, Canada), that rounds it to about 4.50 an issue. This leads to my problem. 4.50 an issue is overpriced for a 20 page comic book. It limits my investment into the Marvel universe and is ridiculous considering that Marvel Comics makes billions off of their numerous film franchises and comics sales. The purpose of this petition is to, hopefully, convince Marvel to lower their prices to at least 2.99 to match DC Comics and to make their comics series more affordable to teenage fans such as I who have a limited spending range. As a devout fan and consumer, I would very much appreciate this, considering that it offers more accessibility to Marvel's stories. The point of this petition is simple. All we want are decent prices for our entertainment. It may sound very minimal compared to other issues in the comics industry, but to the people who are fans that are not as well off financially as others, this would make a difference to them knowing that their comics are more affordable.
