This paper was too similar to the new specification in terms of timing and format- they aren't supposed to be making the new changes to our specification!

Devastated for my daughter she has worked really hard for this exam as she needed an A for university. She came home crying that surely is so wrong to put this much pressure on anyone

I really thought this was the hardest paper AQA have set out of all the past papers I done. It is so unfair because people would like to get into their first choice university and don't think AQA want that to happen.

I'm angry that this exam did not give myself and many other students the opportunity to show what we actually knew. I believe that exam was too focused on application questions to the point that I and my classmates felt it was entirely guesswork - this paper in no way represented my knowledge of chemistry unit 4.

These students who have worked really hard need to have the chance to show what they have learnt - give them the backup paper now to resit and give them a chance of achieving the grades they deserve!

I have devoted my whole year into getting into medical school with UKCAT , BMAT , Interviews , revision, past papers only for it all to be seemingly thrown away by egotistic examiners who aim to 'discriminate' between candidates by tenuously linking small parts of small parts of the spec to 'how science works questions'. I appreciate that exams nationwide are currently being reformed to make them less predictable, however making diligent students learn countless amounts of details for them to just be left out in the exam to such an extent is a disgrace.

From consistently achieving 85% - 90% on Chem4 past papers at home and in class, to not being able to answer questions... This was not a fair test of our Chemistry knowledge.

Unbelievably unfair, not even because it was harder than every other paper, but because hundreds of thousands of students have worked so hard for this and nothing came up that we've spent hours learning. So done.

Worked so hard for this exam, for them to make it ridiculous. All AQAs papers this year have been disgusting.

having worked so hard for the past 2 years of an a-level chemistry course and it has come to this.
timing was severely constrained, it was NOT a 'mark per minute' and the easy questions e.g. kinetics/equilibria etc were nowhere to be found - there were no easy marks to gain. what is more, the 9 marker structure determination q at the end had me full on panicking as there were no qs to take us step by step like they normally have done in the past.
in my opinion, grade boundaries should definitely be lower than 2015 - it should be the lowest ever. the lowest grade boundaries have ever been was 82 for an A* in jan 2011 - which was still nothing compared to 2016.
please have mercy and lower the grade boundaries!!!!
