As a 4 year student who is dealing with dyslexia I am trying to make something out of my life. I did all I could over the summer in order to prepare me for chem 4 and 5. Every past paper I took and every note I read I learnt from. This paper was ridiculously hard, even with my extra time. I didn't have the sufficient time for the 9 marker at the end nor I knew about anaesthesia, as it is NOT ON OUR SYLLABUS!. Over the years, aqa paper gets harder and grade boundaries rise. People cannot resit at their college next year. It is not fair to have such extreme grade boundaries and ruin young people's lives and dreams of going to university and getting a job. It was outrageous to see how many people were in tears after this exam. And people will lose additional marks cause AQA do not even properly mark the paper and miss them out hence we have to spend ADDITIONAL MONEY to get the paper remarked as well as to retake it, hence we're paying aqa to correct their mistakes. Aqa probably do not know about the stigma of 4 year students in college and their low self esteem which lowers their self worth, hence they do not care who's lives they ruin just by making a paper who can do so much to a person's future.

In my opinion, some of the questions asked were not clear, and were not relative to our chemistry unit 4 course

Too much time was needed for the 1/2 markers which left nowhere near enough time for that brutally hard question 9.

Ridiculously difficult, they did this to meet their sick agenda of making the new specification look good. In addition, if we are low on doctors, why try to make it even more difficult to get the grades to get into medicine.

Absolutely awful exam, was completely out of the blue , no structure , threw all students off guard with questions from parts of the spec that were questioned so differently they were excruciating difficult to understand what the questions were asking, very harsh exam

My friends who took this exam told me it was unfair in that it had very little questions on knowledge and wasn't like previous papers.

Question 9 was unfair. No other past paper has ever had a whole grade resting upon the drawing of one molecule. It should have been split up into small sub-questions like previous paper to give students a chance to pick up marks even if the final structure was wrong. Furthermore, too many time consuming 1/2 mark questions and application questions.

Going into the exam I felt as though I had prepared enough but the exam itself was far too difficult compared to previous exam papers

Although I found the exam incredibly difficult, I know I wasn't the only one. I am now very worried about my future. All of that effort for work experience, revising for the UKCAT and the BMAT seems to be wasted. I have never been so disappointed after an exam. Completely distraught. Not sure dping well in chem5 will help at all, just feel so helpless. There wasn't enough time to even begin the last question. mechanisms were application and too unfamiliar. It was not representative of what we are usually exposed to. Please lower grade boundaries significantly - people's futures are at stake.
