The proliferation of online media services, financial transactions, education, communication and social networking require reliable fast internet. However, most residents in the Lower Chittering area pay a premium fee for a service that is inadequate to facilitate these commonplace activities.

In 2013 the NBN Co announced it will commence the rollout of fixed wireless fast broadband service to Chittering Shire. While the township of Bindoon has been connected, the residential areas of Lower Chittering and Muchea have delayed several times. The current commencement date is now planned for between July and December 2018.

In view of the inadequate ADSL internet service currently provide by Telstra, the residents of the aforementioned areas petition the NBN Co to expedite the commencement of the Fixed Wireless Fast Broadband service to 2017.
