This would have been a great event for us to enjoy during our visit to Ireland from the USA this year.

Markets are an important social and cultural outlet. They are the character and souls of a city and reflect the spirit of its people. Let them be.

I never made it to the Christmas market in the Point in previous years but heard it was fabulous. Was dying to go this year and couldn't believe when I found out that it was not going ahead this year - really disappointing. I really hope it happens again

Please save our markets. Its our history our culture. We need to pass our skills to the next generation, but if we have nowhere to show how beautiful they are, how can we ask them to be interested.

We need to support the promotion of every kind of outdoor market. We need to preserve the markets we have left. This needs to be done at local and government level to succeed. Good luck

I judge the quality of a city on priority given to markets. They’re a sign of good community and creative life-blood. Do this Dublin City Council
