As a Providence alum, and a very active member of this community, I am sickened and disgusted by this willful display of ignorance. I will never again refer anyone to this school, nor will I give back to my alma mater, financially or otherwise. This level of intolerance demonstrates a lack of inclusion not seen in better-credited institutions. The focus here should be on education and tolerance. Shame on the Providence board of directors and the head of school. Welcome to the 2000s—schools are no longer segregated and bullying should no longer be tolerated (especially from those that are tasked with running the school).

This is exactly why gay kids dont come out until they graduate. Someone should start a Providence Gay Alumni website, so gay students and supporters can help each other out since the school is not supportive and cannot be trusted to be mature enough to treat them with respect. If this is how Christians act then I dont want to be called a Christian.
