As a former Providence teacher, it saddens me to hear about the actions taken against Bryce Goodson. I spent my time at the school loving my students and attempting to show them a real and genuine faith. I wanted them to know the Jesus I know and see grace with skin on. Many had been hurt by other Christians and leadership in the Church and felt cynical about Christianity. I understood the reality of this situation and sought to offer a safe place for students, both believers and unbelievers, to wrestle with doubts and fears honestly. This action by the school hurts my heart because it is not only unfair to Bryce, but also undoes so much of what I worked for - to let my students know that there is a place at the table for everyone.
So many of my fellow teachers, some of whom are still there, tried to do the same thing. These teachers love their students and I am certain wish that they could speak up exactly like I have the freedom to do, but they fear they will lose their jobs. They will be lumped into a group of people to which they do not belong, therefore, I feel I need to be a voice for them. Please do not mistake their silence for compliance.
Love God. Love people. Nothing else matters.

This is just wrong, a teacher pretty much bullying a child out of school. It shouldn't matter what the child's orientation he is there to get an education. Descrimination is NOT the answer. Just because GOD made you who you are. He makes no mistakes.

I graduated from Providence in 99. I came out after I graduated. I know others who attended there who are gay and it is unfortunate that they kicked you out. They should open the Bible and read the story of Jesus eating with the "sinners" Jesus taught love and kindness.
