Loudoun County Public Schools Needs To Step Up When It Comes To Our Children's Safety On School Busses

My daughter is special needs and was dropped off at the wrong school once and I was not informed until her assistant could not find her.... Finally found her 3 hours later where she was crying all alone by herself. Horrifying! !

Communication is key. But let's also try to limit the buses on dirt/gravel roads that are not taken care of and should be avoided by buses.

What happened this morning is NOT acceptable. Parents MUST be informed at the VERY moment that schools have any information concerning their children.

This could have all been avoided with a simple call to the parents. Please make sure VDot and LCPS make every effort to communicate with each other and the parents so as not cause panic in what very easily could have been averted. Thank you

This is my daughters bus route. We waited 15 minutes for the bus to come and then I decided to drive her. It would be nice to know when a bus is stuck and that it won't be making to our stop. I feel bad for the driver, the kids and all the parents. Something needs to be done so if it does happen again, communication is made with all parents involved. PLUS VDOT needs to make sure this road is passable before sending a bus on it. Second time this year the bus has gotten stuck, and over the years I can't tell you how many times there has been a problem.

After having several issues with riding the buses over the years, I've decided to drive my daughter to school myself. Not worth the risk, worry and bullying issues.

This is completely unacceptable and someone should be held accountable. This is not the first instance of children being stuck on buses out here in western Loudoun this year. Last time this happened, there were several buses stuck for HOURS and Loudoun county officials told local news Channel 7 that "in no time were students ever in danger". Really?? When a child is stuck in a ditch for any period of time it is traumatizing at the very least. There needs to be a discussion around separating Eastern and Western Loudoun counties if the issue of putting our buses on the roads in bad weather is at all related to giving kids in Eastern part of the county another day off. I realize kids have to attend a certain number of school days but other counties add days and we have plenty of days built into our calender.

No Excuses at all!!!!! My child called me at work to tell me he was on the bus for an hour on Adler School Road with a garbage truck and a "gas truck" in front of them and when I contacted the school I was told not to orry that my child wouldn't be marked late.....Well guess what lady I had no concerns of him being marked late just worried that there was an accident and that a gas truck was involved and a bus full of children behind it!!!!!!!!!
