I wanted to gauge parent interest if there were the opportunity for Mr. Timberlake’s class to “loop” into 4th grade with him as their teacher. What this means is the students in his current 3rd grade class would then have Mr. Timberlake again as their teacher in 4th grade. Research shows there are many benefits to looping with a teacher. For one, this kind of model strengthens the relationships between both teacher and students and teacher and families. Teachers know the students better so they are better able to understand student needs. The teacher’s expectations of student behavior are established which benefits classroom management.
