Moab doesn’t need more glamping. It is already crowded enough as it is, and gets more crowded every time I come. This sort of development lends itself to tourists who don’t care about the land, and would also be an eyesore on the otherwise pristine landscape surrounding Looking Glass.

Development of any kind of I’m this incredible area is not acceptable. The urban sprawl of Moab is taking over the very land that made it popular in the first place. If we truly care about our wild places we need to preserve what’s left.

Please have them develop their space further away from the arch. Arches National Park type crowds is the opposite of what we want for this space.
If there was community involvement or if this was to benefit the locals in anyway, the only way I see that being possible is if they set aside part of their development for affordable housing, which is arguably one of the communities biggest problems at this time.

This decision to build a glamping set up under looking glass arch is not considering the community. Looking glass arch is an amazing destination in Moab that I have returned to many times. Having a glamping spot there will make it less accessible to hikers and climbers and will prevent the beautiful arch from being fully enjoyed by those in the community. Glamping is an inaccessible activity and caters to tourists and well off people who enjoy the landscape in an elite way. This will limit everyday people from enjoying this beautiful arch and the surrounding land.
