How can this possibly be offering a widest possible menu.Certainly if this was the case .It would accomadate all dietary requirements e.g. Non halal,Vegetarian, Halal,Vegan,Gluton and various other diets this doesn't seem to be the case.
It's also the animals welfare and in the way the animals are slaughtered and the use of religious involvement. I realise schools are getting multicultural but the dietary requirements should suit all nationalities and religion and not the minority.I work in schools myself and all dietary requirements are covered. It makes for different prep areas and equipment but this is what is required ,but we still cover all areas without a problem.

Having only halal meat available to children in a western country school is ridiculous and should not be allowed. The animals are killed in humanely and blessed upon by a god I do not believe in! This cannot be forced upon children! This would not be allowed in Muslim countries so why encourage it in ours

I feel strongly against this. My child should not be forced into eating something that we wouldn’t at home.

We are an animal loving family who although do not follow a strict vegan/vegetarian diet we certainly have basic morals and choose to eat higher welfare animal products. I personally, after investigating the inhumane methods in which most of the halal animal products are produced find it quite disturbing that it would be served in Longroyde Primary School at all. The fact that Britain is sorely behind most of Europe in currently not having a legal stun before religious slaughter policy set in place yet and only around 80% of the animals actually pre-stunned. It is certainly a cruel barbaric method of slaughtering animals for food which imposes upon my family’s personal beliefs.
I disagree with this for my children
Give kids bacon!!
