The 10 minute rule has been established in White Plains High School, and with it, there are dilemnas. The rule causes students to go right in the middle of class periods, and miss the key points of the lesson.

Some teachers in the school argue that we can use the bathroom during lunch, or that we should have if lunch has already passed. Our lunch is only 36 minutes long, and we barely have enough time to get our food and eat, let alone do anything else. With an extended lunch we can eat our food, use the restrooms, and do anything else we may have to do during lunch. With an extended lunch we may have a bit of a longer day, but it would be worth it. As well as having some time to do eat and do whatever else, lunch is our downtime, our break from schoolwork, our time to recooperate and get ready for our afternoon classes.
