In his class "Contemporary Issues in Fashion" I learned more about the history of not only fashion, but modern art and design, than I had in fashion history, art history, and design history combined. I am hugely disappointed that the department would even consider removing him from his position as senior thesis instructor. My fellow students and I would suffer a great educational loss if we don't have the opportunity to have him as professor for senior collection.

I support this petition. Even though I have never had Long Nam as a professor, numerous seniors from the year before ours have approached me to inform of Long Nam's success and contributions to the fashion design students. With all due respect, we all obviously have seen how much the fashion design program has improved and gained recognition in the past two years since Long Nam became the professor, and it's nice that he gets the fashion design students involved with other departments on some of the projects, which not only helps us improve our work, but makes the SU community stronger.

In the short time that Professor Long has been at SU, it has been made very clear that he has an ability to push his students to successfully go beyond their own expectations. Because of this, I think it would be incredibly beneficial for the class of 2015 to have the pleasure of having him as our professor for senior collection. I absolutely support this petition.

I have previously worked with Professor Long Nam before, and appreciate the challenges that he brings upon students. With my signature, I believe that Professor Long Nam as the head instructor of the senior class will be the rightful choice.

I am an alumnus of the university and currently a Juris Doctor candidate at the University of Chicago Law School. The affirmation and support of his students make it sufficiently apparent to me--despite never having met him--that Professor Nguyen is a capable instructor that would enrich his students both inside and outside the classroom. It is well understood--even to industry outsiders--that fashion is an extremely competitive industry for new graduates. It is clear to me that Professor Nguyen's appointment would only better prepare our undergraduate students to succeed in the industry. I am confident that the Syracuse administration will make the right decision. It would certainly trouble me as an alumnus if the administration were to outright ignore the voices and opinions of its own students as they try take responsibility and ownership of their undergraduate careers.

I have always appreciate the challenges that he brought upon me. He has definitely pushed me to successfully go beyond my expectations. I won't come so far without his guidance. He became not only the best professor in my entire college years, but also my mentor, and very good friend. I think Professor Long Nam as the head instructor of the senior class is definitely the rightful choice amount all the faculties we have.
