Long Beach Polytechnic High School is an athletic, academic, artistic, and cultural jewel in the heart of Long Beach, California. It has a diverse staff and student body that share in a unique campus pride that can be felt the moment one sets foot on campus. In the budgetary axes of recent years, Poly lost the full-time services of one of the great personalities on campus, Staff Assistant and Freshman Football Coach, Jeremy Calhoun. "Calhoun" as everyone knows him--and EVERYONE knows him-- is Poly. As a staff assistant and as a coach, he is a whirlwind of pride and positivity on Poly's campus. He is proactive with students and makes the most hardened looks turn to smiles. His unfailingly enthusiastic demeanor and genuine concern for all students has gained him the respect and admiration of students across campus. We, the undersigned students, staff, and parents would like the Long Beach Unified School District to consider finding a way to help Poly have "Calhoun" back full time in his Poly home for the good of this school we all love.
