Whilst I believe in responsible pet ownership and the concept that if you can't afford to microchip and desex your pet that you probably have no business owning said pet, these impound fees are nothing short of highway robbery. It is not uncommon for lowlives to go and release pets out of otherwise secure yards, For pensioners and those on a lower income, sometimes they have no money available to them to be able to have their pets released leaving those animals at the mercy of the pound. Please create a payment plan to allow people to have their beloved pets released to them. There appears to be no correlation between the price charged for impounding fees vs the 'service' provided by the pound.

This is well overdue, please not only look at the payment plan but look at the fees! If they can do weekend specials for $20 for microchipping in other councils maybe look at following the same path!

Payment plans should be offered as an option and if not paid have some sort of consequence. But not the option for repeat offenders who haven't tried to keep their pet in their yard
