Final supporters
Application CUP21-15 requests a conditional use permit for a helipad on the south side of Highway 94 in between Church Road and Jackson Street, next to Augusta, MO. Many local residents and organizations in the area are there because it is a quiet, rural area, zoned as rural residential. Helicopters do not fit the quiet and peaceful character of the area, and would interfere with our enjoyment of the area. The noise would cause tremendous stress, and would even drive people away. Many residents, and also businesses focused on tourists, would be harmed by this helipad.
St. Charles Co. Zoning ordinance Section 405.510(B) states: “…that the conditional use will not be injurious to the use and enjoyment of other property in the immediate vicinity….” The noise of helicopters coming and going would be injurious to use and enjoyment of other people in the area.
We are strongly opposed to granting a use permit for a helipad.

The feedback I have received from neighbors confirms that the rural character of our community remains a primary concern for everyone involved. I am currently preparing formal evidence to demonstrate how the proposed helipad violates the existing zoning ordinances regarding local property enjoyment.

I do not want a helipad in Augusta next to the cemetery where my family is buried and where I will be buried one day, don't want the noise or a whole lot of people roaming through the cemetery, or when I visit Augusta I don't want all the noise either. Thank you, Diane McGuire
I work at the spa in Augusta and it would be horrible to our guests along with the spa guests at the new hotel to be hearing helicopters everyday while trying to relax. Very much against the helicopter rides!
As a fourth generation family of this area and a member and elder of Christ Lutheran church, I strongly oppose the proposed heliport in the area. The noice generated from fly overs, take offs, and landings would be disruptive to our church services. Please say NO to the heliport!
We live very close to where the helicopter pad will be located. The noise from a helicopter will make it intolerable to live hear and will make it harder to sell a home. No one wants to be living near a high noise area. Moved hear to get away from the noise and traffic.
I live in Augusta and do not agree with having a helipad for sightseeing helicopters in this area due to noise, pollution & safety concerns. In cities that do offer these tours residents are flooding their local authorities & the FAA with complaints for the same concerns as stated above.
Let's keep those unsustainable developments out of Augusta. Neither a helicopter or hot air balloon will serve St Charles county
I'm happy to see the changes Mr. Huffman has done for our small town and out lying areas Augusta has always been a quiet town and one of the many reasons we enjoy sitting on our front porch or the gazebo in our backyard.

A more sensible location for the helipad would be the airport on Hwy 47. Please respect the residents' physical and emotional health and keep the charm and serenity of our area by having the helipad at the airport.
