The current covid vaccines do not *prevent* covid, only lessen the severity of infection. There are medical conditions that contraindicate covid vaccination.
There are established vaccines and immunizations for other diseases that are not mandated. Alaska, for years, has been and continues to be #1 for active tuberculosis cases. There is established testing and effective treatment. Want to create a healthy work environment? Start with a voluntary member TB testing.
Until all members health choices are considered and workers rights protected, I cannot agree with the current mandate.

My vaccination status does not have any affect on my ability to do my job. I have been a front line employee thru the entire "pandemic ". I believe my union needs to stand up for me to make my own medical choices without loosing my job.

The vaccine does not prevent the recipient from getting or spreading the virus. The IBEW should be fighting this illegal, dictatorial mandate, not supporting it.
