IBEW Local 1547 Leadership:
We, the undersigned IBEW members, would like to express to our IBEW representatives our united stance against the proposed COVID19 vaccine “mandate” for employers of one hundred or more employees.
While we firmly believe that any brother or sister who, having the need or desire to receive the COVID19 vaccine, should do so, we also believe that the one-size-fits-all, authoritarian nature of the proposed mandate not only violates our basic human rights, it is an unconstitutional violation of our fifth amendment right to not be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process.
We would further remember the wording of the Declaration of the IBEW:
“Our cause is the cause of human justice, human rights, human security. We refuse, and will always refuse, to condone or tolerate dictatorship or oppression of any kind. We will find and expel from our midst any who might attempt to destroy, by subversion, all that we stand for. This Brotherhood will continue to oppose communism, Nazism or any other subversive ‘ism’. Will support God, our Nation, our Union.”
We believe that it would behoove Local 1547, by the very declaration of the IBEW itself, to stand with Locals 1245, 160, 369, 77, 17, and others, against any proposed vaccine “mandate” that would force members to choose between making the medical decisions that are right for each individual, or the right to provide for themselves and their families.
We sincerely ask that you stand with us in solidarity, and represent us in this urgent matter.

Had covid last year, decided to get vaccinated 3 weeks ago. Both had rough side effects. Mandated vaccination is a violation of our basic rights as Humans. I support anyone that refuses to comply. I will not be getting any booster after what I experienced with the initial vaccination.
If the government and/or drug companies won’t assume liability, I will not assume the vaccine(s) are tested and/or safe enough to be experimented with in my body. I would rather my robust natural immunity protect me.
Myself and multiple journeymen I know are about to lose our livelihoods that we have poured years of our lives into, in an unconstitutional manner. Please uphold what the union stands for and help us fight this.
Vaccines should be a personal choice as much as any other medical treatment. Someone’s vaccination status should never be a condition of employment. Government overreach is what this is.
I’ve received the vaccine for personal family reasons, but I don’t think anyone should be force to have their human body controlled by any government. It’s unconstitutional all across the board

My vaccination status does not have any affect on my ability to do my job. I have been a front line employee thru the entire "pandemic ". I believe my union needs to stand up for me to make my own medical choices without loosing my job.
