The Council has confirmed that a living wage will now serve as the baseline for all employees. Your persistence ensured that this standard could not be ignored by the leadership. We will now monitor the implementation process to ensure every worker receives the pay they deserve.
We the undersigned call on Manchester City Council leader Richard Leese to establish the Living Wage as the basic pay rate for all Manchester City Council employees and end the scourge of poverty paywithin theCouncil.
The momentum behind this initiative has grown far beyond my initial expectations. I am encouraged by the collective commitment to securing fair compensation for council employees.

Keep fighting for this. My mum worked for the council for years and it was always a struggle to get by.
