Since Kelly Ripa and the producers of "Live with Kelly" have not yet filled the co-host position vacated by the incomparable Regis Philbin, they need to start considering real alternative possibilities. And what could be more out-of-the-box thinking than an English and Latin professor, with pop culture credentials (two books on Frank Sinatra and another on Ava Gardner), who's hosted his own radio show ("Frank, Gil, and Friends") since 1993, has hosted and produced a book show ("Central Authors") since 2004, and is a fledgling (i.e., bad) tap dancer? All he's asking for is an audition! Sign this petition, and say "Kelly, all we are saying is give Gil a chance!"
