lives hanging in the balance
Many children in Iran no longer have some of their human rights because of their sentences to life on death row. They no longer have the light to life (article 3) and the right not to be subject to cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment (article 5) We are raising awareness about this situation as we think it is unfair and cruel towards many children. 160 young people are currently facing the death penalty in Iran.
We are working to abolish the death penalty around the world because we firmly believe that no one – including any government – has the right to take away someone else’s life. - Amnesty international
