Little Miami Stakeholders Against the Proposed Flags and Displays Policy

Our posters and colorful art makes me want to come to school more than skip

This is the stupidest thing little miami could do, there are more pressing matters than worrying about some flags.

I hope the board will vote no on this broad and unnecessary policy.

Ridiculous overstep

As a mother of a recent Little Miami grad who is a part of a marginalized community, it meant so much to our family that she was able to find teachers who created a safe space for students like her. Little Miami continues to chip away at freedoms that create space for those who are different. As a tax paying member of this school district, I expect the school board to do its job, which is to create a school district that provides an education that sets students up for success in their post-secondary education. The tax dollars of this community are being used by those that will silence anyone who disagrees with them and their views. Little Miami is at best a district that provides a mediocre education and is clearly not competitive with other schools in this area. Diversity, inclusivity, and acceptance are what makes this country great. Your continued march towards whitewashing the district with flag bans, book bans, and targeting students and families of the LGBTQ community does nothing but make this district small and closed minded. Your job is to make this school the best it can be, stop wasting time on culture wars.

Even as a conservative, I still believe in their first amendment rights and if the government oversteps their rights, this would be government reach infringing on constitutional rights of citizens. Also wide open to civil suits.

Please allow our teachers and schools display what they wish.

Be Better

My daughter went to LM. We are in kings now. But we still live right on the line. Don't want to see this kind of bigoted BS in our area, as well as sad blank classrooms and more BS for the teachers to deal with.

Free speech. No censorship

Every person should feel loved, accepted, and safe, especially during times like these. We are proud LGBTQ+ allies!

As a student of Little Miami High School, I fully believe that we should have the posters and flags and that the school will be a more depressing place without it. They keep us in the loop, display school spirit and show safe places for those to go.

Safe space signs represents a commitment to creating safe and welcoming spaces for EVERYONE. It sends a powerful message to students who may feel marginalized, providing them with the assurance that they are seen, valued, and supported by the school community. The decision to display such symbols promotes the values of respect, understanding, and equality—principles that are fundamental to the mission of any educational institution. Banning these symbols is an affront to the inclusive environment we strive to foster in our schools. It risks sending a message of exclusion, rather than unity. Inclusion is not political and should not be controversial; it should be a standard we uphold for everyone. Some are concerned that their children are being subjected to materials that go against their family's values and beliefs, however core beliefs across many religions and values preach loving thy neighbor, treating others the way we would like to be treated and "love one another as I have loved you". Symbols of inclusion support these values and beliefs. The inclusion is not limited to only marginalized students but to students from all walks of life and faiths.

How are we even having this conversation. It’s not 1923.

This is not good for our schools, students, or staff! We have more important things to do here.
