I do not know if this lady has lied, told mistruths or given her account truthfully but It appears that there are many people online who do not have a grasp of the history of the Hutu-Tutsi conflict. From what I have read she said that that she had to hide within three months of arriving at Lake Tanganyika she was forced to hide from armed rebels from the "Hutu-Tutsi conflict in neighbouring Congo. Whether this happened I do not know however here is an article that shows it did at some point: http://www.ipsnews.net/1999/09/politics-zambia-congo-conflict-spills-over/ Regarding the genocide of course it is well known that up to a million died in Rwanda in 1994 however it spread from there into other countries includind the DRC. As the BBC World news stated: "The Democratic Republic of Congo is slowly recovering from a conflict known as Africa's first world war, which led to the loss of some five million lives between 1994 and 2003, but many eastern areas are still plagued by violence as various rebel groups continue to operate there...The 1994 genocide in neighbouring Rwanda hastened his downfall and helped plunge DR Congo into the deadliest conflict in African history....After Rwanda's genocidal Hutu regime was overthrown, more than two million Hutus are thought to have fled into DR Congo fearing reprisals against them by the new, Tutsi-dominated government. Among them were many of the militiamen responsible for the genocide. They quickly allied themselves with Mobutu's government and began to attack DR Congo's sizeable population of ethnic Tutsis, who had lived in the country for generations. Rwanda's Tutsi government started to back rival militias, fighting both the Hutu militias and Congolese government troops. The Tutsi militias, allied to other local groups backed by Uganda, eventually marched on Kinshasa and overthrew Mobutu's government.

There are so many issues with this book that I couldn't begin to adequately get into them right now. Suffice it to say if a reputable publisher and editor read this and thought it was both FACTUAL and NEEDED to be published then they should be fired and forced to retreat from social media as their client has done. Never seen anyone delete Twitter and Facebook in the same day so quickly. Instagram is private. If her story was valid and honest there's no reason for her to vanish or hide. You gotta do better folks especially with the whole I went to Africa thing. She went to Zambia which is on the continent of Africa but is not the sum total of Africa.
