its about time lincoln got a parkour park, these guys need an apporiate place to train where they will not get bothered by the public or local authorities. this would be a suitable location in which they could practise their discipline.

Definitely needed, this is a really cool thing for kids to learn, will keep the teens off the streets and give them somewhere to go and hang out.

What better way to keep fit and have fun - and not get in the way? Plus, it's a great way to bring more people to the city - people who jump and run!

I see an obvious plus side and negative side to this if I'm honest.
Obviously on the plus side it provides an area to practice and train without being pestered by land owners.
On the down side, it could potentially isolate the rest of the city as a training place. Once word of a parkour park gets out to these people, they'll expect us to go there and stay there. That's my only concern.
It's like when skaters get told they should go back to their skate parks because "that's what they're for". I'd hate to see a similar situation. I always liked parkour because it let you see the world through different eyes, it makes you think about your surroundings in a different way.
I think if the plan goes ahead, there'll be one of two outcomes; the park will become overused and traceurs will move from the streets to this one location, or the park will get "boring" and after a while become empty and just another place that will attract anti-social behaviour.
I'm not saying I'm against the idea, I'm just on the fence. I don't know if it would actually solve any problems. I just have a horrible feeling that it will encourage the authorities to push us away from the streets and into the park.
I could be completely wrong, just sharing some thoughts. I'll sign the petition none the less as I know how much this means to you all and I hope it works out all right! :-)
