Facts are being withheld from the one sided debate and Mayor Baird made an unjustifiable mandate based solely off of incomplete information. The Health Director must go through the process of being confirmed with concerns being heard from the public first.

Our current mayor is not following the rules, protocols or laws regarding decisions such as appointing Ms. Lopez as Director of the Health Dept. The mayor is not even following our County Attorneys legal advise. Do not appoint Ms. Lopez to the health department. As a long time Lincoln resident, registered voter and business owner I am watching the actions of the city council and commissioners as well as the current mayor. The city of Lincoln is not the current mayors personal domain to do as she chooses. Our elected officials are required to perform in accordance with the oath of office each took, and all the rules, protocols, regulations and laws. Do not place Lincoln in a scenario likely to result in significant legal battles the city cannot win and will likely result in heavy financial penalties the tax payers cannot afford.

Follow the science is the mantra spewed while decisions with tyrannical consequence ruin other people without consensus, without procedural follow-through, and without care for it. Even if Pat Lopez is officially sworn in, this administration has lost all credibility throughout. Time for a clean slate. There is simply no respect left.

As free citizens, we have the right to decide if we want to wear a mask. Requiring healthy people be masked is tyranny! Requiring healthy children to be masked in school is child abuse! Stop this madness at once. We have done the research and know we are not in a state of emergency. We know that this virus is comparable to a seasonal flu. I am in total agreement with Ellie Sampson's statements.

Quarantine is when you restrict the movement of sick people, Tyranny is restricting the movement of healthy people. Over half of the people I see in stores wear their masks under their noses so really WHY even bother? This is blown WAY out of proportion and we are tired of it!! I won’t wear a burka either.
