On February 26, 2012, a tragedy took place. 17 year-old Florida teen Trayvon Martin was shot and killed as he returned from a local convenience store. After being observed and deemed "suspicious", a resident participating in a neighborhood watch program confronted and fatally wounded the unarmed teen. His crime? Being young, male, and black. Trayvon was armed with the now infamous bag of Skittles and can of iced tea. In memory of the life of Trayvon Martin, whose life was tragically and unjustly cut short as a result of the stereotypical profiling that disproportionally impacts young black males, let's petition Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company to release a limited edition package of Skittles in Trayvon's honor, with the proceeds going to a suitable charity that fosters cultural and racial harmony in our communities.
