Ridgeline and Turtle Rock Drive are impacted by short cuts from residents in Newport Beach and Uni High students from Shady Canyon and Quail Hill. More traffic is intolerable and unsafe for all residents. The signal will create more risk of accidents for residents. I say NO to the signal on Ridgeline and to further Concordia development.

This will create even more traffic backups on Ridgeline.

The traffic both on Ridgeline and University are already back up before expansion.
You are spot on!! There is NO CAP to the number of university events and with the NCAA designation, the number of events will be immense - including buses, etc. They need to consider holding all sporting events at the Great Park and then the campus lights won't be necessary!

There should be NO expansion of Concordia or a traffic light as this was not in the master Plan and is NOT safe for the community or anyone driving through this area of Irvine. The comments I am reading are missing some very important points for people to consider when objecting to this issue. While the safety issue is primary, the expansion of Concordia also wants to do the following:
1) Increase the events. This means more traffic at hours that there is currently no traffic making the safety issue even more paramount.
2) The lighting issue mentioned in the petition states Concordia wants to LIGHT 8 athletic fields that are currently UNLIT. Those residents living around the area of the school would have to deal with the lighting of 38 poles ranging in height from 40 - 90 feet. That's equivalent to a 4 to 9 story building. This light will surely spill over and flood nearby residents homes. This again means more traffic at hours when we do not currently have traffic and that traffic congestion will be at night making it even more dangerous at the intersection.
The newly installed traffic light at University and Berry is an example of a traffic light placed to close to an intersection, such as the one being proposed in this petition. This light is causing traffic to back up into the University and Michelson intersection causing more safety issues. This is a example of things to come, only worse, if this light is installed and the expansion of Concordia is allowed..

There will be a tremendous backup from University entering Ridgeline and having to stop again in a short distance. No stop light!!!!

Objection of Concordia Expansion UNLESS an effective traffic plan from Concordia and the City is in place and working

The backup on Ridgeline will be worse and feeding on to a 2 lane University will cause accidents due to impatient people who live up the hill.

More growth in the Irvine area is detrimental to our quality-of-life. There is already far too much traffic causing exhaust and noise pollution and congestion.

I live in Turtle Rock Point. Already, the traffic is often backed up all the way from University Drive to my neighborhood on Ridgeline Drive.

Mayor Wagner ran on committing to improve the Irvine traffic. We need to hold him to his promise.

The congestion is already far too high. Increasing it further will erode the value of one of Irvine's finest residential communities.

I oppose a traffic light at Ridgeline and Concordia and support a comprehensive traffic plan.

A light at Concordia and Ridgeline would be a disaster and create gridlock at that intersection. I support a responsible traffic plan.
