I am a survivor or narcissistic abuse trying to protect my son from a narcissistically abusive father. I am forced to share custody and placement with him through our outdated family court laws.

I have suffered physical abuse which I have had justice for, however, emotional, mental and financial abuse has been ongoing for last 13 months since her arrest and conviction. The abuse has left me contemplating suicide at times; something that I don’t think I could ever bring myself to actually do given that I have full time care of my son but the idea plays around and around in my mind - the only real escape. Narcissistic abuse needs to be labelled a crime and as sure as I am that it’s the most difficult form of abuse to prove and fewer convictions will be made than should be because of this, I still believe that a law prohibiting this form of abuse will serve as a deterrent at least. Please, please, please listen to the victims of this form of abuse; it’s life threatening abuse and far more concerning than it seems to be from the outside looking in.

Narcissisme is a terrible and destructive mental disorder that is only detected with a trained professional and even for them it is hard to diagnose. We desperately need to shine a light on this malignant behavior.

Divorced after 17 years of marriage, to a diagnosed psychopath with severe narcissism. We spent three years battling in the court system over the custody of our two children, ages 4 and 8. I found myself in the judges chambers multiple times within a week facing anywhere from seven up to fifteen motions that were filed against me at a time. Every type of divorce expert was hired to show I was an unfit mother so I would loose custody of my children. In reality I was a devoted, stay at home, PTA mom who was their sole care provider. No longer could the abuse take place behind close doors so the court system along with a team of attorneys was used to continue the abuse and to punish me for leaving. After spending $400,000 in attorney/expert fees it ended with a ten day trial. Even though domestic violence was acknowledged and noted by the judge in the final decree, custody was awarded 50/50. One week on and one week off. Financial support was quickly and successfully removed using the court system, less than a year from when it was finalized. Immediately my parenting time was interfered with, consistent planned activities and trips during my time. There was no communication with me regarding the day to day education or medical care for the children when they were with the other parent. Our daughter was registered at a new school without my consent. This new school was an hour from my home so parenting time had to be changed. Parent alienation also started immediately and the children were regularly asking for more time and asking me to change the parenting time so they could be with their dad full-time. After the divorce was final, we were back in the system yearly at his request to continue to financially reduce or modify the parenting plan. After ten years of being divorced, I’m picking up the small fragments of what is left behind of my relationship with my two children and to repair the damage that is created by their other parent. I left the marriage to gi

I am trying to end a 23 year relationship/marriage. Abuse from a Narcissist that financially abuses you along with physical violence is absolutely impossible. People like me need a law like this to help them survive.

It’s the worst thing I have been through in my life. My life still in shambles. Running into a covert narcissist, pretending to love. While planning my downfall from day one. I don’t want this to happen to anyone. And I want people protected from this. Lives ruined for ever. They move from one to the other. Their life continuing without a ripple. It should not be possible, or legal.

This is absolutely a crime .. abuse is rampant and we have no way of getting help. Dealing with a sociopath, no where to turn .. and the entire family is continually abused.

I was married to a narcissist and suffered, however far less than his 4 children and 4 additional wives. His family was compliant. Please pass this bill.
