and what about making it an irresponsible parent's decision how old her underage child's partner must be. since when did irresponsible adults get a say in what the justice system SHOULD be dealing with. that's like finding a child drinking and saying, oh it's ok because my mum knows and feels it's alright.. wtf right?

I agree 100% with this! As a teacher I see first hand what these people are doing to the children. Their lives are ruined and they find it very hard to trust adults who actually want to help. They end up going back to the abuser because they think that's the only form of comfort they deserve. If these vile people are released early (and some don't even do jail time) what message are we sending to the kids who have been abused?? That they were wrong and their abuser was right?? I also think we should have Public Sex Offenders List like in the UK and many other countries. As a mother I need to know whether it's safe for my daughter to be outside playing and I'm sure other parents feel the same way. Seychelles is too small for the number of cases of child abuse!! Something needs to be done and this is the first step. I hope it works!

I absolutely agree that paedophiles should be given a life sentence.
However, I don't think the public should be given access to information on these people. This would only encourage further criminal behaviour through revenge attacks or people using their own form of "justice".

It kills what a person could have been. No human being should have to go through that, no human being should have the right to scar ones childhood memory.

I completely agree. Sex offenders, especially those targeting children are not being dealt with severely enough. Their names and addresses should also be made public.
