Petition Against The Changes to The Licensing Act 2010
We the undersigned hereby oppose the changes to the Licensing Act specifically the changes to Contents point 7 through 7.07 Changes to Temporary Event Notices. Inflicting such stringent regulations would end festivals in England and the UK. Restricting the amount of TENs an event can hold would close down most if not all festivals and events. Political rights include natural justice (procedural fairness) in law, such as the rights of the accused, including the right to a fair trial; due process; the right to seek redress or a legal remedy; and rights of participation in civil society and politics such as freedom of association, the right to assemble, the right to petition, and the right to vote. We should have a choice of where to assemble; free festival or ticketed event - changing the legislation this way removes our choice and our legal right to peaceful assembly.
