Many children throughout the US are neglected, abused, and not raised as a child should be with all the love and attention all children deserve. Just last year in California two women were arrested as a result of neglecting three kids in their home. Another case is just a couple months ago authorities found a boy who has been reported missing in a fake wall at his father's house.
In Central California, the Monterey county Sheriff department made a shocking discovery. They found two malnourished boys and one eight-year-old girl who was chained to the floor, so that she could not reach any food. All three kids had multiple signs of physical and emotional abuse. One of the children even had to be hospitalized. The girl and one of the boys were adopted and the other boy is the biological son of the woman. The two women were arrested on multiple charges of child abuse.
Another example is when authorities found a boy who has been reported for four years by his mother behind a fake wall in his father's home in Atlanta, Washington. Neighbors reported seeing the boy working in the lawn, and heard he was home schooled. The father and step mother of the boy and three others were charged with obstruction, false imprisonment, and cruelty to children.
Parents who get frequently intoxicated around their kids, who smoke around their kids, who allow their kids to watch violent programs or play violent video games, who curse in front of their children, and who introduce their kids to weapons at a young age negatively impact their children's lives. We need to act now before any more children are hurt. United States citizens should have to graduate from a parenting course, and receive a license in parenting to be able to legally have kids.
