Liberty Heights Park - Removing the Basketball Courts

These courts have been a problem for years and I have discussed this many times with the alderman!They seem to think the older children need something to do also,which may be true but then the courts need to be supervised and closed off when no supervision is presnt if they won't remove them1Personally that space could be used for more equipment for the other children who really want to go there and have a good time!

The basketball courts are a nuisence. Drop the P.C. crap and do what's right for the residents and TAXPAYERS, not visitors trashing our parks.

I live nearby and I cannot even take my kids to the playground there because of the constant conflicts and swearing. Thank you!

This park is no longer safe to walk through!

I would love to take my grandchildren there to play and swim, but it is too aggressive of an environment

I take my children to the park and have seen the aggressive behaviors, the trash and old food, and heard the foul language. Once we were there, a young boy, maybe a year or so old, was playing on the playground by himself while the father played basketball. The boy kept going going to the court, and his dad would just turn him back to the park. I intervened when the boy was playing on the catwalk and almost fell through the ropes - 7foot drop!! (I have a video). The dad didn't even noticed. I got the boy down, cleaned up his seriously snotty nose, calmed him down, and took him over to play with my small daughter on the littler equipment. I tried to send him over to his dad twice, and he just turned him back to the playground again. His son could have died from that fall, but his basketball game was more important!! Someone could have come up and taken his son from the park, but his basketball game was more important. This isn't the only time I've seen the dad playing and small children are left unattended. This is not acceptable!

Please, enable single moms like myself, to contnue to live, work, and raise my child here - free of violence and harassment.

Please remove these courts. My kids played in this park when they were younger. The park is no longer a "G" rated family park. Please give this park back to the families.

Just put a divider up between the full court hoops!

As a resident of 26 years residing approximately a block away from the park, I've seen the trouble escalate every year at the park. I'd hate that fact that our own residents can't use the courts as outsiders take control over our neighborhood park and destroy what the taxpayers & city work so hard to provide for everyone to enjoy. Sadly it's come to where we have to resort to the same action the City of Milwaukee has in resulting the removal of the hoops in their parks brining the problems into our city. It truly makes me sad & frustrated.

I am sick and tired of people not being able to use what tax payers pay for.These hoodlums and disrespectful @%&@s need to leave.

They should have stuck the money on the softball field instead of the basketball courts. There has been problems with the basketball area since i was a kid. Its a shame that there are nice courts finally and people dont respect it.

I support a safe place for children and families to play. If courts need to be removed to encourage a safe oasis, I fully support.

I'm not signing. I see enough riff raft up at Jefferson playground and Rogers park. I don't want them migrating to my neck of the woods. Sorry.

I always enjoyed the park when my daughter was young (30 yrs ago) and I'm a bit sad to think that this could be the only option. I'm signing in support of the neighbors that live closer to the park. They need to be heard. We need to have the park and their neighborhood safe for the children.

Please remove the basketball courts.

If the riff raff cannot be cleaned up out of there then get rid of the basketball court.

If city officials had to live across the street from this park they would see the huge problem it is . They need to listen to the people on the community who pay their salaries and vote for them .
