We've all seen what happens when political parties allow anti trans terrorism and open hatred, regardless how it reframed or dressed up as "protecting women", "sex based rights", "think of the children", "they're dominating sport" etc. Every party that has embraced this rhetoric has been sucked into a doom spiral of vicious hate and lost support of voters. No women has been made safer by this hate, look to the police stats for the hard fact based evidence. There are differences between women/men who are medically transitioned, and those that only identify as a gender. One is biological sex change the other is a social presentation change. Both need legal recognition and protection. Women and men that are fully medically and biologically transitioned and have obtained a GRC should regain the sex recognition that they are, since sex is biologically mutable and not a single chromosome. A point that the corrupt judiciary did not bother to fact check with qualified professionals. Instead they took the word of non expert anti trans terrorist groups fronting as "women's rights groups".

Let's not forget that the invasion of women's spaces is by men, no matter how they "identify. "

Women and supporters of women's rights have been silenced for too long within the Lib Dem party. We've been made to feel inferior and unworthy of the party, the supposedly most democratic party of all parties. We have as much right as anyone to speak, to be listened to and for our concerns, for women and children, to be addressed. We are not a minority group of backward thinking people. Indeed, we are quite the opposite. We are the majority. We see the harm and the dangers. We have watched it unroll. It is now time for the party to take this seriously for everyone's sake

While respecting the rights of trans women, I also believe that natal women's rights to single safe spaces should be respected

Without protection for women and girls in single sex spaces it’s not possible to vote Lib Dem

This feels like it should be common sense but somehow we're branded as bigots for wanting our safe spaces protected from those who will, and do, abuse the system. I really hope the genuinely needed protection of women and girls takes political priority over the preferences of a few. I'm starting to panic that it won't.

It is not unusual for unhappy folk to seek a posed solution to make them happy but in this case it is neither a certain outcome nor one that does not bring risk and unhappiness to others.

We urgently need to ditch the absurd American notions of "fully transitioned transwo" men and "those who identify as transgender" and only discuss how we are going to return to sanity and reality. No-one really believes in "trans" nonsense so let's stop pretending!

All Women's sex-based legally 'protected' human rights to safety, privacy, dignity, fairness, boundaries and bodily autonomy must take preference over some adult straight men who are consumed by a gender-based sexual fetish (AGP) of being sexually attracted to 'pretending' to be/dressing up as/being referred to as women.

I welcome equality and diversity. Why shouldn't a man who wants breasts and to present as a woman do so? Fine with me. But this makes him a man who presents in a stereoptypically feminine way, not a woman! We should celebrate both sexes and different types of people within each sex, and encourage feeling good about oneself, no matter how 'masculine' or 'feminine' one's appearance or traits are.

The sex of a person is a biological fact which is incontrovertible and protected under the Equality Act. The Liberal-Democrat party - indeed all political parties - must appreciate the distinction between biological sex and gender, which is a human construct liable to manipulation by biological (and intact) males to access women-only spaces and activities. Women's rights are human rights and stifling debate - for any reason - is fundamentally wrong.

Ditto, everyone. Also, male to feminine, NOT male to female. You can't turn a male into a female. Transgendiamus!

Finally, a statement from a point of commonsense.
