I object to this proposal of a bus lane. I travel up and down this road everyday and there has never been an issue and traffic flows fine. To make a bus lane along this road I find would be a waste of time and money. Why change something where there isn't a issue in the first place. Colchester should be looking into modernising the town and encouraging more shops coming in. More and more un used outlets are in town. Soon know one be using buses as there is not much in town.

This is a particularly inept proposal with significant risk of danger to pedestrians and cyclists without any evidence of benefit to either bus or car road users.

These proposals will not benefit bus users, and will endanger school students. Please abandon this project.

Replacing the non dangerous/ less dangerous by the dangerous is a breach of the General Principles of Prevention which accompany the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. Not recommended!

This is a retrograde step and is dangerous to road users and pedestrians with little or no benefit. This is a poor use of taxpayers money. Listen to your electorate.

This is a foolish idea which will jeopardise the safety of all road users

I oppose the proposed bus lane in Lexden Road. My opposition is on the grounds of safety, conservation area status, townscape and environmental detriment.

This bus lane is not necessary, completely ruins Lexden road and potentially increases the risk of accidents along the road

This is a really dangerous idea. Proposals should focus on traffic calming measures to improve driver and pedestrian safety.

This idea to make the pedestrIan path narrower is bad. The traffic is already so close and fast. It will be more dangerous.

Extremely concerned about the impact this will have on the flow of traffic, pedestrian and cyclist safety. The road is not wide enough for this bus lane Please for once listen to the concerns of the public you serve and stop carving up Colchester town.

This is a ludicrous plan. Safety will be compromised. Accidents will occur.

I teach at a local school along Lexden Road and am afraid that this scheme will be extremely dangerous for my school pupils' safety.

This proposal is both dangerous for school children and a complete waste of money given that the periods of so-called 'congestion' are so short. There are no serious difficulties at all with traffic flow along Lexden Road on a daily basis.

I object

The narrowing of the pavements and proposed sharing of the space between pedestrians and cyclists is potentially dangerous, and could lead to serious injury or the loss of life.
