This is a mad idea, I have had 2 children who have been at schools in the area , CCGHS and St Mary's and Colchester High school. The pavements are already congested with school children at peak times and often step out into the road to get around other pedestrians . There are too many side streets which pedestrians have to navigate crossing which is also a hazard. I cannot see how a bus lane can physically 'fit in' with the space that is available unless compulsory purchase of properties is made ? There is also a bike lane to consider , which is already any place . Have the council and the highways department actually filmed or monitered the traffic and pedestrian moment at peak times ? Clearly they have not.

Volume of traffic already trying to get into Colchester, coupled with increase in house building makes this scheme a disaster. No thought going into controlling traffic in town. Dangerous to pedestrians cyclists and of course the number of school children using this area. Totally oppose idea.
