Lewis is a lovely guy who has missed out on so much as a young child I would love to see him have the chance to move on in life and know he would be a credit given this chance to fulfill his potential

I was SEN TA for 23 years. All these children work so hard as do their parents. The parents have to prove/fight every yr to get what they know their child needs or where is the best for their child to be educated. Mainstream can do so much harm to so e chilldren and cause children to suffer so unfair of local authorities. The teachers in mainstream have not got the training to teach children with complex needs nor the time when you have 30+ children in a class so its unfair on them as well.

Keep fighting for what he needs. I’m sure you probably have already but use any evidence from previous GP, OT, Paedatrician, EHCP, school reports and records that you have to show that due to his disability mainstream is not the best way forward.

If the young man is safer in a residential placement rather than main stream he should be allowed to go. Working with in the nhs school nursing team before I retired, I know there are different levels of disability, but if sounds like this young man would not cope with main stream education, He would be better with smaller classes geared to his learning capability.

The L..A are failing too many family’s this needs to stop
