Please stop showing your support for the violent South Downs and Eridge Hunt by closing roads in Lewes to allow the parade. This goes against the views of the majority of Lewes residents, and sends a message that criminal activity is tolerated by the Lewes District Council.

I do hope that Lewes District Council will disallow the local Hunt from parading through the highstreet this coming Boxing Day. Fox Hunting is not only against the Law but has been shown that the majority are against it. Its extremely cruel and NEEDS TO END.

Please realize this is not a modern way of thinking. You are repeating the ugly and cruel archaic blood lust of people who had limited knowledge of nature and the intelligence of the animals they killed. Please brain up and stop this because this is not sport. You mistreat the dogs like they are just replaceable killing machines. You murder the prey who has as much right to live as any of the Neanderthal hunters. Get out of old ways of thinking of what counts in life. The world is watching and hating you! How sad! Maybe the cold way you were raised is the reason you are acting in such a hearless way. Break the mold!

Hunting is outdated and barbaric. The majority of the public do not agree with hunting and therefore councils should no longer support hunts in any way.

As a former resident of Brighton I'm appalled that such a progressive local council as Lewes should be allowing this. I'm deeply shocked.

I do not support the road closure. I think that allowing it because of tradition is a spurious argument . I do not believe the District Council should tacitly approve the illegal practice of hunting foxes with hounds.
