This hunt has violent members who stab people who are trying to save the lives of foxes. They and their out dated "hobby" have no place in a compassionate society.

Hunting is illegal, there is no place in a civilised society for folk to dress up and parade their love of ripping our wildlife to shreds for fun.

Very disappointed to hear about the hunt being allowed on the high street Boxing Day. A frequent visitor to Lewes ...supporting your local businesses and arts etc....but no more. Even seriously considering buying a house there but no more. Sums it up really....NO MORE ....please abandon your support of this aggressive hunt.

Vole and disgusting if council support them. Council may aswel support drug dealers aswel end of day both break law and cause suffering to others animals included.

Please do not go against the majority of the public and permit closure of Lewes High Street on Boxing Day for the Southdown and Erridge Hunt meet. Let us be clear, hunting is a barbaric and inhumane hobby carried out by a few influential people who intimidate others into backing them up. It is wrong through and through.

Council tax payers resent their hard earned money going towards activities that are cruel. Councils have a duty of care to make sure resources are used properly.
In days of austerity not one penny of OUR money should be used to support the hunt.
