Hunts have obviously not adapted to the ban and openly commit criminal offences. I can't think of any other piece of legislation being so openly flouted.The Council should not be seen to support this criminal activity.

After the events of yesterday 14 November where a hunt monitor was stabbed by a Terrier Man from the southdown & eridge hunt the hunt has demonstrated a blatant disregard for the rule of law and cannot be permitted to parade down Lewes High Street on Boxing Day. If Lewes council allows it then the Council condones violence and actual bodily harm.

Arrogant hunts think they can ignore the law and they are getting away with it. The weight of public opinion is against them and the Police are turning a blind eye. This has to stop.

This is 2015: allowing people to kill something for leisure purposes is outmoded, cruel, wholly unnecessary and... illegal. It has no place and there is no need for it in a modern, 'civilised' society.
And please do NOT be fooled by the shallow arguments of 'conservation', 'tradition', or avoiding packs of hounds having to be put down.
If it were for conservation purposes, why do these concerned nature lovers only 'conserve' on a Saturday?
If it is to uphold 'tradition', then let's open up the coalmines and send 12 year-olds down them again. Or take the vote from women?
And if it's to avoid having to put down packs of hounds, then surely they could all be re-homed by all the wonderful people who train them to kill wild animals. And the 'problem' ends there, with no more need to bring another generation through to indulge their selfish, sadistic pleasures.
It's simply barbaric. Condoning, permitting and by doing so, encouraging it, is disgraceful.
