A good government would work with it's good people that abide by it's laws and would not restrict the good citizens from anything, there is no need to restrict good people, instead it seems the government is working against us and not caring that we are a just citizens. Actually it's seems they might have some underlining motive for us legitimate firearms and in fact ALL Australians. i see many people of this opinion, not just firearms owners. I hope the government can show this to be wrong please.

I went through all the bullcrap to get my firearms licence i worked dam hard to buy my Marlin Lever 22 and my Rem pump action 308, my father loves his little 30.30 Marlin, we are law abiding we store and use them safely and correctly, we pay our licence fees, ive placed an order for the Adler and we'll be damned if we're going to let anyone take them and our other firerms away from us when we've worked hard for them and appreciate them.

The 1996 THEFT of our rights and firearms was a joke and it cannot happen again!!!
If this goes ahead my future son will never shoot a lever action and that thought makes me sick!!!!

We are law abiding firearm owners why punish us? Why not spend this time and money on stopping the flow of illigal firearms instead of harassing us.

Another case where they go for the easy target where it *looks* to the uneducated like they are actually doing something. Anti-gunners are too ignorant to know or care how criminals acquire and use firearms. So long as more guns are made illegal they will call it a win. They fail to realize very few legally owned firearms are used for crime and very few legally licensed shooters commit gun crimes (much less with a legally owned firearm). The government can't be bothered going after the illegal weapons because there is no convenient central database to search for everyone who owns one. If they go for the legal weapons, anti-gunners are happy and it is easy for them to come to our houses and take our guns off us.

Law abiding firearm owners should not be punished for the actions of criminals, committing crimes with ILLEGAL firearms. Banning lever actions and similar firearms will have absolutely no influence on crime rates, statistics have shown in the past that banning firearms does not reduce gun crime. Criminals dont buy registered firearms, so how will banning legal firearms influence a reduction in the number of criminals buying illegal firearms? They wont!

The proposed changes are unwarranted and ridiculous. It's a publicity stunt to make it look like the government is putting effort into taking guns from criminals when all they are doing is taking guns from law abiding citizens.
