This reaction will not stop the illgeal/criminal use of firearms who are the real issue. Why should the law abiding citizen suffer and be dealt the pentaly for doing the correct thing and actually having a licence to own and operate a firearm. Australia it's time to really look at the propaganda the media and government is feeding you!

Law abiding firearm owners should be allowed to enjoy their passion and sport with the goverment demonising them.

The gun laws only affect law abiding firearms owners. The crim will still find a way to aquire there illegal firearms even if the ban on the lever action shotgun is enforced. I have heard of people that had firearms that were band previously and held on to them as they were not registed. I handed in my .22lr semiautomatic rifle in 1996.

Come on Mr Abbott, I'm sick of being treated as a criminal when I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum! I, like hundreds of thousands of Australian's have acquired our firearms licence and firearms to enjoy shooting as a sport and recreational pastime in a lawful way. Please crack down on the criminals, who have all types of illegal firearms under the sun and don't care what new laws you put into play! Because they're criminals!

Mr Abbott please take a considerable time to review further decisions regarding expanding the NFA as your not too far from an election and LAFO's are much better organized.

i am a range officer with SSAA Griffith and a small land owner, hunter and recreational shooter, I have three lever action rifles in three separate calibers, one of which I bought as my first rifle 32 years ago. I will not let them go without resistance. Why am I wrong to possess these magnificent pieces of history!

Why keep taking away from the law abiding citizens? It's the black market weapons that is the problem.

We should be allowing semi autos and silencers for law abiding citizens not taking more away.

We are being punished by a government that can't do its job properly. It not our fault you allow the potential terrorist and criminals walk free. Your penalising us for your incompetence, own up to your mistakes.

I am not a criminal! I am a responsible, licensed, law abiding firearm owner. I should not be forced to hand over my lever action rifle because of the actions of criminals that do not respect the law.
